Let me introduce you to Joseph Kony – a leader of Lord’s Resistance Army known for appalling atrocities committed against people, which include murder, mutilations, rape, and even cannibalism. Known for abducting children and using them as soldiers or sex slaves.
In 2005, Joseph Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands, but, thus far, he avoided capture.
The advocacy group Invisible Children has put up a 30-minute video to raise awareness about the guerrilla group leader and the atrocities carried out by Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (watch it here or below). Invisible Children want to introduce Joseph Kony to us. Millions already met him through the video. More are about to meet him.
“KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.”
